Darlene K. Hyde

Darlene is currently CEO of BC Real Estate Association.
She brings over 30 years of executive and senior management experience across Canada in a number of industry sectors, including telecommunications, fiancial institutions, insurance, auto retail, energy, and commercial real estate development. She has also worked in the public and not for profit sectors. Currently, Darlene serves as chair of the Insurance Council of BC.
Over the years, Darlene has served in leadership roles on a number of not for profit and community boards. She is a past Chair of Douglas College Foundation, during which time the Foundation fund grew from $15 million to $20 million.
Darlene has served as past chair of Westminster Savings Credit Union, the predecessor to Prospera Credit Union, and as past chair of the Motor Vehicle Sales Authority Customer Compensation Fund.
Darlene earned a BA Hons at McGill University and an MBA at Memorial University. Darlene has lived and worked in five provinces, and was born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan. In her spare time, Darlene enjoys the performing arts, golf, travel and hiking.
Vice Chairperson — CEO, First Credit Union
Linda joined First Credit Union in February of 2018 as Chief Executive Officer.
With over twenty years of experience in Senior Executive roles within Canada Trust, TD Bank, CIBC and the insurance division of BCAA, Linda has developed expertise in change management, leadership, & continuous improvement. Some of the highlights of her roles include heading up Branch Banking in Alberta for CIBC as Market Vice President, leading National Sales as VP Private Client Services for TD Wealth, introducing Lean Six Sigma methodology to TD Bank, and leading the Insurance operation and contact centre for BCAA as SVP & Chief Member Experience Officer.
Linda considers herself a lifelong learner; she has completed the Certified Financial Planning designation, holds a Bachelor & Masters of Business Administration degree from Simon Fraser University, completed the Queen’s University Executive Sales Leadership program, and earned a Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma. Linda has also completed the Credit Union Directors Accreditation (CUDA) course curriculum.
Linda serves as a Director on the Boards of BC’s Stabilization Central Credit Union, and the Canadian Credit Union Association, and is Board Chair of the Credit Union Agencies Alliance, an insurance partnership comprised of The Cooperators, First Credit Union and Aldergrove Credit Union.

Ms. Braha currently serves as Board Chair of Vancity Savings Credit Union.
She is also the Chair of Risk Committee and was Chair of the Human Resources Committee and Governance and Conduct Review Committee. Anita also serves as Chair of the Governing Board Forum, part of the Global Alliance for Banking on Values.
She is a lawyer, and educator who has practiced in the area of human rights for over 25 years. She served on the executive of the British Columbia Industrial Relations Association for 10 years. Anita is a founding member and President of the Galiano Island Loan Fund Society. She was an appointed member of the Employment Standards Review Commission, the City of Vancouver Women’s Task Force and the Galiano Parks and Recreation Commission.
Anita has taught at Capilano College in the Political Studies, Women’s Studies and Labour Studies departments. She has a BA (Hons) from York University, an MA from the University of Toronto and an LLB from Osgoode Hall Law School. She is called to the Bar in Ontario and British Columbia. She completed the director education program at the Institute of Corporate Directors. She is the consulting editor of the Annotated British Columbia Human Rights Code.

Jody is currently the CEO of East Kootenay Community Credit Union and volunteers in his community as a member of the Rotary Club of Cranbrook.
Jody Burk has 33 years of forward-looking experience in the credit union system, with understanding in every facet of the business. Jody strives for growth using collaborative and cooperative strategies while maintaining compliance.
With his passion for collaboration, he holds the position of CEO for East Kootenay Insurance Services Ltd., a property and casualty insurance company and East Kootenay Financial Services Ltd., a wealth management service company. He also holds the position of director on CUSO Wealth Ltd., Kootenay Insurance Services Ltd., MoneyWorks and previously, the BC Solutions Centre and CUPP Services Ltd.
As an advocate for continual learning, Jody holds his Certificate of Advanced Strategy from the UBC Sauder School of Business, his Certificate of Leadership Excellence from the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity and is an Associate of the Credit Union Institute of Canada (ACUIC) and a Fellow of the Credit Union Institute of Canada (FCUIC).

Elected to the Board of Stabilization Central Credit Union in 2020, Colin currently serves as Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee and as a member of the Governance & Conduct Review Committee and Master Bond Committee.
In addition, Colin currently serves as a Director of the recently amalgamated Prospera Credit Union where he serves as chair of the Risk, Investment & Loan Committee, and is a member of the Audit Committee, Human Resources Committee and Integration Committee.
Colin has more than 40 years of experience in senior executive management roles in financial services and member-based organizations with a focus on corporate finance, strategic planning and risk management. From 1996 until his retirement in 2013, he was with British Columbia Automobile Association serving in senior roles, including SVP & CFO, SVP & CRO and Corporate Secretary. Earlier in his career, he served as the CFO for Surrey Credit Union and as the Canadian Director of the Exchange Network.
Colin is a Chartered Professional Accountant (FCPA, FCA) and is an ICD.D accredited Director with the Institute of Corporate Directors. In addition, he holds a BSc (Chemistry) and MBA from the University of British Columbia.
He is an active member in the community serving on a number of not-for-profit Boards of Directors.

Kelly is CEO of Summerland & District Credit Union and has been for the past 15 years.
He has been in the Western Canadian Credit Union System for 31 years and prior to coming to Summerland was CEO of an Alberta Credit Union and held various capacities at a multi-branch Saskatchewan Credit Union, including Marketing Manager and Manager of Retail Operations.
Kelly is an Associate of the Credit Union Institute of Canada and Dalhousie University, with honours and a specialty in Lending Studies. Kelly is the Board Chair of the Credit Union Executives Society (CUES) and holds an ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors as well as a Certified Chief Executive designation.

Jim is the CEO of Williams Lake and District Credit Union.
He started his Credit Union career as a lender in consumer, commercial and agricultural markets. Prior to moving to BC in 2012 Jim was the CEO of several prairie Credit Unions, a Regional Vice President, Branch Manager, Accounting Supervisor and Office Manager.
He obtained a Business Administration Certificate from the University of Saskatchewan and a Post Baccalaureate Degree in Management from Athabasca University. Jim enjoys the rural lifestyle, living on an acreage with his wife and daughter and their pets, poultry, livestock and big gardens. In his spare time Jim can be found in the shop, restoring a muscle car from the 1960’s.
